FIona A MacLeod brings a strong international commercial perspective, large scale international people leadership and a highly respected non executive director portfolio. This combination makes her a wise partner and coach to her diverse business and third sector client base. Her executive career was internationally based with BP. Her Board experience is both UK and global comprising companies such as Virginmoney, Denholm Energy Services, Sthree and Clydesdale Yorkshire Bank. She has spoken widely in academic and business settings.

Fiona A. MacLeod has an extensive background in actually delivering transformational change. She has demonstrated this through 23 years at senior levels in BP, followed by a move to her own company where she applies this experience with senior leaders and their teams in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. Her unique perspectives as a practitioner and on-the –ground leader are cited as invaluable as CEOs and their teams build the necessary confidence to make and execute often tough change decisions.

Her Valuation model gives those crucial insights to Private Equity and other companies. Her Meritocracy work has helped companies avoid costly “initiatives” and instead shown the power of embedding meritocracy as part of a company’s core purpose and leadership values.

Fiona spent the early part of her BP career in a variety of Marketing, HR and Supply & Distribution roles across the UK and Europe. Subsequently she held a number of BP customer-facing positions within the UK, Brussels, New Zealand and USA, with additional responsibilities for Retail in Mexico and Japan. She has led operational, strategic and marketing elements of the business, and chaired BP’s Global Marketing forum. Fiona was the Business Unit Leader for the European Gas & Power business and was Chief of Staff for BP Refining & Marketing worldwide. She is a champion for Women’s empowerment and was a founding member of the group’s global diversity council.

Her track record centres around business transformation. She has led significant change programs in New Zealand, USA and across Europe. Most recently as President of Retail for USA, Mexico and Venezuela , she led the total business model and brand transformation of BP’s USA Convenience Retail business. Her direct personal experience has involved Change delivery impacting thousands of people and delivering hundreds of millions of dollars.

In the past couple of years Fiona has additionally focused her commercial business and leadership skills on the charity/not for profit sector. She has just completed her terms on the US Board of Womens World Banking ( a microfinance organisation targeting the World’s poorest). Here she has worked extensively on the creation of a totally new business model and communications plan. She is also active with Breast Cancer Care, Pancreatic Cancer UK (Pancan) and a range of other not for profits. During that period Fiona has raised well over $1 Million USD for her target charities through securing investments sponsorships and direct funding. Fiona is based in the UK and travels to the USA and Australia in particular , working with leaders and teams, as a fellow practitioner, to allow them to confidently and practically address the risks in delivering large scale change.

Fiona has held a number of International Board level positions and spoken at conferences across the business world eg Norwegian Gas Conferences, and in academia eg Wharton Business school, on a range of commercial and leadership topics.
